On Saturday 10 December, the Netherlands Vietnam Horti Business Platform (NVHBP) and its member Onings Holland Flowerbulbs were honored by the visit of Mr. Le Minh Hoan – the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), in the presence of members of MARD, Mr. Tran Van Cong – Vietnam’s agricultural counselor in the EU and Ms. Ingrid Korving – the Netherlands Agricultural Counselor in Vietnam. During the visit, a presentation about the cooperative NVHBP which is a unique bundling of forces aiming to bring the Vietnamese sector to the next level, was given by Ms. Mirjam Boekestijn – Secretary and Coordinator the Netherlands of NVHBP.

Thereafter, Mr. Paul Onings – co-owner of Onings Holland Flowerbulbs, give a presentation about the flowerbulb sector, the company and their activities in Vietnam. The flowerbulb business is very important for the Vietnamese economy; Vietnam is one of the largest markets to import lily bulbs and is the second country in the world in terms of number of lilies per capita. Thereafter, the delegation did a tour at Onings Holland Flowerbulbs to see the logistics and packing of the bulbs.
