Honselersdijk, 26th March 2021 – Chairman of Team Westland, mr. Dirk Huis, has baptized tulip ‘Tourmalet’ in the test greenhouse of Onings Holland Flowerbulbs.

This outstanding deep red tulip with a yellow fringed edge, breeded by ‘Pater Bloembollen BV’, is a valuable addition to the current tulip assortment.

Alongside this event, a cheque worth of 5.000 Euro has been handed over to Team Westland by Onings Holland. This amount has been raised by the team of Onings Holland by selling bulbs and bulb packages in the fall of 2020.

Team Westland is a large group of cyclists and runners that collect money for charities that are directly or indirectly linked to cancer or research to cancer. On October 6th, 2021, Team Westland will climb up the mountain ‘Tourmalet’ in the French Pyrenees by bike or by foot. The group will also plant some ‘Tourmalet’ tulips on the eponymous mountain, made availble by Onings Holland Flowerbulbs.
